FAQ

The following is a list of our most frequently asked questions. If the answer to your own question is not listed here, then please contact us at any time

What will we see on a trip?

Absolutely fantastic scenery is guaranteed on every trip. As for wildlife, it is just that, we cannot guarantee that you will see anything, although this has never happened. Normally we see plenty of sea birds and usually seals, and during the summer months we can find Porpoise and Basking Shark. More recently we have had Dolphins sighted between The Gantocks and Little Cumbrae.

Will the boat get close enough to get some pictures?

We will stop wherever possible to allow pictures to be taken of either the scenery or the wildlife, however we will not "chase" the wildlife.

I am quite nervous, what Safety measures do you take?

All of our vessels are inspected by the MCA to ensure that they carry all the relevant safety equipment and are maintained. We issue lifejackets to every passenger and they must be worn at all times whilst on board. Our skippers are professionals and also licensed by the MCA. All of our boats are chosen because they have an excellent design that offer inherent and proven safety.

We will obtain an up to date weather forecast prior to departure, and we also monitor the VHF for any updates. If the weather is forecast to change for the worst we may cancel the trip and either offer a full refund or a free trip on another sailing.

The safety of our passengers and vessels are our top priority.

What age ranges can you take and what about people with disability?

We can take from 4 years old to 104, under 4 at the skipper's discretion based on trip type and sea condition. One of the major factors in choosing a Redbay is in its ability to carry people comfortably, the high back seats offer support as you would get in your car. Passengers with disabilities are more than welcome and we can also offer shorter trips to suit any requirement.

Can my dog come?

If you have booked the whole boat and the rest of your party have no objections then yes, no problem.

How many other passengers will there be?

All the boats are licensed for 12 passengers, and hopefully full!!

We are meant to be racing at Tarbert at the weekend but the Yacht is sailing up on Friday. Can you take us up on Saturday morning?

Yes, no problem we can do one way trips or return.

Do you do ashes scattering?

Yes, you can either go out for a short time with your family/friends or if your loved one has a favourite place we can take you there.
